If your purpose is tons of silver in the game, Smuggler Operations should be a priority to consider for early upgrades, there are a total of 24 pages included in this collection. The Gold Skull Rum Production page gives you Gold Skull Rum that can be sold for good profits. The Better Deals II will increase the amount of Eights in orders by 25%.

Upgrading Smuggler Operations pages also progressively unlocks new crafting options at the Distillery, Laboratory, and other facilities. For example, the Master Apothecaries II can grant you a 20% chance to produce an additional item when refining contraband in the Laboratory. It is recommended to focus on unlocking the most profitable crafting recipes through Smuggler Operations. Crafting and selling the upgraded items is a good way to earn Skull and Bones silver.

How to Upgrade Helm in Skull and Bones?

1. Access the Smuggler's Hideout, where you complete the main operations. You can locate it on the map or by sailing close to it.

2. Within the Smuggler's Hideout, look for and select the Helm Empire Overview option. This can be under menus like "Upgrades" or "Management".

3. The Helm Empire Overview displays the various upgrade options categorized by their impact - ship stats, crew abilities, resource production, etc.

4. The upgrade options each have a cost in "Pieces of Eight". Make sure you have enough before upgrading.

5. Choose upgrades and strategically upgrade the helm based on your needs and available resources. Consider upgrade benefits and costs.

Skull and Bones Helm Upgrades Reset Time and Cost

Based on the current information, at the end of each season, upgrades made to the Helm that impact resources (production and storage capacities) will be reset, including upgrades under the "Empire Management" category in the Helm interface. However, upgrades that enhance ship management abilities or crew capacities do not reset and provide permanent benefits. Some sources speculate the seasonal reset mechanic may change in future updates to provide more permanent progression. Resource-focused upgrades can still be beneficial short-term before resetting, but may not enhance lasting empire strength.

In terms of the helm upgrade cost, you need a specific amount of Pieces of Eight, a type of in-game currency, the base cost for the first upgrade level if a category is generally quite low, about 10 to 50 Pieces of Eight, however, costs significantly increase for each subsequent upgrade level. In addition to the currency, some upgrades may need different crafting materials that need to be acquired through activities or other methods. It's best to gradually upgrade different aspects over an extended period rather than max everything at once due to exponential cost scaling.
