Elden Ring Nightreign Boss Difficulty Tier List: Easiest to Hardest Nightlords

There is a total of 8 Nightlords in the Elden Ring Nightreign; they are the primary bosses you will encounter. Defeating these bosses is essential not only for progressing to the final stages but also for unlocking powerful rewards like the Night of the Beast Relic, which grants permanent passive bonuses to Nightfarers. Mastering specific weaknesses or vulnerabilities of each Nightlord boss is important to overcome their devastating attacks, mainly including damage types such as Holy, Fire, or Lightning, and some status effects. Each boss defeated flashes the Nightlord Slain message, which means you can earn Relics that provide passive benefits for your characters when they are equipped in Roundtable Hold.

1. Maris Fathom of Night (Augur) - S Tier (Easiest Boss)

Maris Fathom of Night, also known as Maris Fathom of Night, is regarded as the Nightlord boss in the game by far. The key to winning is knowing the secret mechanic, that is, destroying the jellyfish bubbles it summons causes damage back to the boss. During the sleep phase, using an ultimate ability with invulnerability frames allows you to counterattack safely. Without these tricks, the fight seems dull and weak, but with them, it becomes straightforward.

2. Adel Baron of Night (Gaping Jaw) - A Tier

Gaping Jaw is not very difficult, especially solo, where aggro is easier to manage. In groups, aggro switching can cause frustrating one-shot grab attacks. The boss is relatively squishy and manageable with some poison; he is also weak to scarlet rot, frostbite, and sleep. The fight is less challenging than others, but still fun with cool design and effects.

3. Caligo Miasma of Night (Fissure in the Fog) - B Tier

This frost/ice dragon fight is well-designed and intuitive, with telegraphed attacks, making it one of the more enjoyable and less difficult fights. It can still kill you if careless, especially with frostbite buildup, but overall it’s well balanced and manageable, even for groups. The weakness of Caligo Miasma of Night is fire and strike damage, so you can equip a fire weapon and Ash of War on your class.

4. Gnoster Wisdom of Night (Sentient Pest) - B Tier

This boss is annoying and RNG-dependent due to the need for long-range damage against a flying butterfly while also dealing with a scorpion melee opponent. The butterfly interrupts attacks and the scorpion hits hard; the combination creates difficulty as you have to manage two targets at once. Status effects like poison or scarlet rot can be applied during the scorpion’s calcified phase. He is also weak to fire, blood loss, and frostbite.

5. Gladius Beast of Night (Tricephalos) - B Tier

Gladius is a Nightlord boss of moderate difficulty, but the fight is somewhat tricky, especially in solo play. In trios, the fight is easier due to aggro switching and cooperative damage, but solo, it feels like a dodging simulator with few openings. The boss has grab attacks that look similar to regular hits, creating some confusion. Its health is relatively low, and weak to sleep status effect and holy damage.

6. Libra Creature of Night (Equilibrious Beast) - C Tier

Libra Creature of Night is a very difficult boss due to constant projectile attacks and AoE effects that build madness status, complicating the fight. The boss has two distinct phases with different movesets and requires managing madness buildup by collecting gems on the ground. Breaking the meditation shell and destroying discs fast is essential, and missing this window leads to a much harder second phase. Equilibrious Beast is weak against holy damage, poison, scarlet rot, and madness status effects.

7. Heolstor the Nightlord (Night Aspect) - D Tier

Heolstor is one of the hardest bosses in  Elden Ring Nightreign because of a two-phase fight with a deceptive first phase followed by a brutal second phase involving massive AoE attacks and alternate dimension effects. The boss is very fast, with four arms wielding three swords, and can quickly overwhelm players. It’s a demanding fight even for veterans, made worse by limited opportunities to practice due to long runbacks. Utilize his weaknesses, including holy and lightning damage.

8. Fulghor Champion of Nightglow (Darkdrift Knight) - D Tier (Hardest Boss)

Fulghor Champion of Nightglow is ranked at the highest difficulty tier because the fight is extremely fast-paced with very quick startup frames on many attacks, which are hard to predict or counter. The boss moves rapidly around the arena, striking with multiple swords, and shows no clear weaknesses to status effects. The speed and unpredictability make it one of the most challenging encounters in Nightreign. The primary weakness of Darkdrift Knight is lightning damage.
