WoW Season of Discovery BFD Raid Guide - Best Raid Comps

In WoW Classic Season of Discovery, raid compositions play a crucial role in determining the success of your raids. Whether you're aiming for speedruns, loot optimization, or simply looking for fun and unique raid experiences, there are various compositions to consider. Let's explore some of the different raid compositions you can try out:

WoW SoD Best Speedrun Comps for BFD Raid

These compositions focus on maximizing DPS and efficiency to complete raids as quickly as possible. Popular speedrun comps often include classes with high burst damage and strong utility. Examples of speedrun comps may include a mix of Warriors, Mages, Warlocks, and Priests.

Speedrun Comp 1:

Group 1

  • Protection Warrior

  • Feral Combat Druid

  • Arms Warrior

  • Combat Rogue

  • Retribution Paladin

Group 2

  • Beast Mastery Hunter

  • Beast Mastery Hunter

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Holy Priest

  • Discipline Priest

No matter what you decide with a speedrun comp, you are gambling somewhat, runes have been nerfed and changed several times, so your perfect comp may end up being far weaker than you thought. However, we do know a few things about classic that should still be true. Hunters level really fast and they'll obtain Prett more easily than any other class. People are soloing items like the Furbolg Medicine Pouch at level 25. If you want to clear the raid the first week, a hunter stack makes a lot of sense, they do get new runes like Explosive Shot and Sniper Training for increased Critical Strike as well. Plus at least one Hunter is always required in your raid for Aspect of the Lion at least if your Horde. The other required DPS is always going to be a Feral Druid that way you can get Wild Strikes for Wind Fury to buff up the tanks and the DPS. You might notice that we're missing a mage but Scrolls of Intellect II and vendor water (Sweet Nectar) are both stronger anyways. Plus we just value the Hellstones and Ritual of Summoning more in case anybody dies. As for your tank, they could be anything, for example Prop Warrior makes the most sense to spam Sunder Armor with the new Devastate Rune. We are also very sold on double priest in Phase 1, you also can do plan for one of them to be holy while the other one is discs, so they don't overlap too much.

Speedrun Comp 2:

Group 1

  • Protection Warrior

  • Feral Combat Druid

  • Arms Warrior

  • Arms Warrior

  • Combat Rogue

Group 2

  • Marksmanship Hunter

  • Fire Mage

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Holy Priest

  • Discipline Priest

For the second speedrun comp, we wanted to make a warrior stack, this comp would be gambling in a different direction which is directly towards Warriors. They're simming really well and if those projections are even close to accurate arms warrior will be so strong.  We are not quite as sold on Warriors until later phases but we do know some guilds plan to go in this direction.

WoW SoD Best Balance Comps for BFD Raid

Balance comps aim to create a well-rounded raid composition that maximizes loot distribution and covers all necessary roles. These comps typically include a balanced mix of tanks, healers, and DPS classes. Examples of balance comps may include a combination of Warriors, Paladins, Priests, Rogues, and Hunters.

Balanced Comp 1:

Group 1

  • Enhancement Shaman

  • Feral Combat Druid

  • Fury Warrior

  • Combat Rogue

  • Marksmanship Hunter

Group 2:

  • Fire Mage

  • Balance Druid

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Restoration Shaman

  • Discipline Priest

The first balance comp is very low risk and it'll have nearly guaranteed success in the raid. This would also be probably the best comp for maximizing loot since there isn't much class overlap, just like before we've got to start with a druid who'll be the off tank as needed and we need a hunter for kings as well. Then we just go for a rainbow in terms of glass colors, as an example we've swapped the warrior tank out for a shaman tank though anything could work here like a Prop Paladin. The biggest key to this comp is the Balance Druid who can become a third healer as needed depending on the fight. Plus a second Druid means two battle reses which is fantastic. Instead of a two priest healer comp, we have swapped in a Resto Shaman as well , because this is the same company that developed Titan Rune Gamma. If we're not getting feared across BFD during at least two boss fights, we'll be disappointed, though that does mean Tremor Totem is a must-have.

Balanced Comp 2:

Group 1

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Feral Combat Druid

  • Marksmanship Hunter

  • Assassination Rogue

  • Arms Warrior

Group 2

  • Shadow Priest

  • Elemental Shaman

  • Destruction Warlock

  • Arcane Mage

  • Discipline Priest

Another low-risk balance comp would be to run a Caster stack, in this build we are relying on Homunculi to provide an over negative 1,000 armor debuff as well as the demo shout. In group one that frees up the warrior to just blast maximum DPS, or it even allows you to do something else entirely like an Elemental Shaman. Meanwhile, in group two, the Elemental Shaman can bring Shamanistic Rage for Mana regen for the whole party which is stacked with casters. In a Caster stack like this, the Arcane Mage should fit well too, they provide near priest level healing over a longer period with their high Mana pool and their Evocation.

WoW SoD Best Gimmick Comps for BFD Raid

Moving away from realistic comps, we also wanted to share a few gimmick comps. Gimmick comps are unique and unconventional raid compositions that can provide a fun and challenging experience. These comps often rely on specific class abilities or synergies to overcome raid encounters in creative ways. Examples of gimmick comps may include compositions centered around specific class abilities like Warlock tanks or Mage healers.

Gimmick Comp 1:

Group 1

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

Group 2

  • Beast Mastery Hunter

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Discipline Priest

The first would be an Affliction lock stack based on Master Channeler. Our early math puts the base of Master Channeler at over 26 heals per second, all we need to do is add in some tank healing for our main tank Affliction watlock and everybody else should be relatively self-sustaining.

Gimmick Comp 2:

Group 1

  • Affliction Warlock

  • Protection Paladin

  • Fire Mage

  • Fire Mage

  • Beast Mastery Hunter

Group 2

  • Fire Mage

  • Fire Mage

  • Destruction Warlock

  • Holy Priest

  • Discipline Priest

The second gimmick comp would be a fire Mage stack. The early math we did had fire mages blasting, if the additional fights we didn't see at BlizzCon are short, this might be viable though.

No matter which comp you go with, you're now armed with far more options.
