Before starting to move out villagers, you should check the maps and look for the one that you want to get rid of. Here are three recommended ways to make villagers move out.
1. Use time travel
The first way to get rid of villagers or expel residents is by utilizing the time travel. This is a fast and easy way. What you should do is make sure the date and time. For example, today is May 14, 2020, back to your home button, go to the System settings and find the Date and Time, make the time travel to an exact month, set it as June. Return to your game, now you want to save and end. Then close the game, and go back to the date you started and go around the time when villagers would be like around, especially the villager that you want to kick out. Within 3 minutes check on if villagers have a bubble over their heads, if no bubbles, or if the bubble is not on the villager you want to move out, or villager's "over here!" event, do not save and skip a day. Rinse and repeat until the bubble shows over the villager you find. If you have turnips, your turnips will rot by doing this method, so make sure you do not have any turnips or anything that requires time.
2. Ignore your unwanted villager
Another way to move out your unwanted villagers in Animal Crossing is just to flat out ignore them, do not talk to them, don’t fulfill tasks or requests, don’t even ask them what they are building. Pretend like they do not even exist. At the same time, socializing with your other villagers to the extreme. This can help build up neglect which can trigger the next phase. After ignoring the unwanted villager for several days, observe the resident in question, if you see them wandering about with a thought bubble above their head, or they run up to you while shouting your name, you’ll actually want to engage here, because this means they have a dilemma, sometimes they will have tasks or the one to teach you a reaction, there is also a chance a villager displaying all these signs is thinking about moving, players must be present to cement the decision, give the appropriate answer depending on who you are talking to and either discourage them to leave or convince them to stay. This way can permanently kick somebody out but not easy and takes a bit of time.
