WoW SoD Phase 4 DPS Tier List

WoW SoD Phase 4 DPS Tier List/Ranking: Best DPS Classes in Season of Discovery Phase 4

An S-tier class positioned in this WoW Season of Discovery Classic Phase 4 tier list is considered a strong meta DPS choice for dealing damage, this ranking is based on the damage output, utility, spells, changes/improvements, roles, and more.

A Quick Look at the SoD P4 DPS Tier List:

- S Tier: Shaman, Warlock

- A Tier: Hunter, Priest, Druid

- B Tier: Warrior, Rogue, Mage

- C Tier: Paladin

SoD Phase 4 DPS Ranking from the Best to Worst:

1. Shaman - S Tier

The Shaman class is undoubtedly S tier DPS choice in Season of Discovery phase 4, whether you are going to play Elemental or Enhancement specs. Shamans will be highly desirable in raid groups for their buffs and damage output. They can fill either a ranged caster or melee DPS role effectively, the self-healing ability, CC immunity, and defensive cooldowns make them durable damage dealers. Elemental and Enhancement will remain strong with buffs and synergies, specific traits/talents, and Windfury procs lead to huge burst damage potential, the choice between them is up to you. Elemental focuses on spells and has great mana efficiency, while Enhancement is physical damage focus with two-handed weapons. Excellent specs for both raiding and competitive arena/world PvP.

2. Warlock - S Tier

Warlock could achieve the peak caster DPS spot and be ranked in the S tier as one of the best classes. Core DOT and CC mechanics formed the basis of their power. The class brings valuable utility like summoning and healthstones, with potential tools and mechanics, Warlocks can compete alongside shamans in the top tier for SoD P4. Affliction in particular stands to gain significantly from adjustments.

3. Hunter - A Tier

Looking at the Hunter, which is consistently one of the top DPS classes in previous phases. Despite nerfs, Hunters deal massive damage, especially Marksmanship on single-target. You can also play other viable specs, including Survival and Beast Mastery, both of which bring utility. This class is also easy to play effectively with steady damage output, and excellent for both PVP and PVE environments.

4. Priest - A Tier

The next one ranked in the A tier is going to be Priest, Shadow Priests would excel in phase 4 as a party role with contribution to damage. A unique and highly valuable 15% Shadow damage taken debuff will be beneficial for raids stacking Warlocks. Very good mana sustain and efficient DoT refreshing improving their strength in the game. They’ll have strong performance in both PvE raids and PvP arena/BG settings. A strong multi-DoT playstyle will scale well into future content.

5. Druid - A Tier

Another solid DPS option is the Druid class, especially for raids through buffs and party support. Druids bring valuable buffs and synergies through Leader of the Pack, Mark of the Wild, and Moonkin aura, and are also flexible with tanks or heals if needed. Good solo farming and WoW Classic SoD gold potential make them a desirable class. Feral contributes massive Windfury potential and offers strong PVP viability, but its damage is gear-dependent.

6. Warrior - B Tier

With optimization, Warrior can get high damage potential, an ideal choice for both PvE and PvP, the high skill cap will maximize DPS rotation while fulfilling other roles. The damage output hit very hard with crits. You can use a variety of weapons, such as swords, maces, and axes, but they are extremely gear-dependent. Besides damage, tanking utility is available.

7. Rogue - B Tier

Compared to other classes, Rogue is not a top-tier damage dealer but remains competitive for their consistently strong output and indispensable party utility through CC. They have high single-target burst damage potential with abilities like Eviscerate. Poisons provide strong passive damage through bleeds over time. Stealth farming makes them desirable in the open world.

8. Mage - B Tier

The last spot in the B tier is placed with Mage, which excels in AoE damage, allowing them to handle a group of enemies efficiently, they might not receive significant damage buffs but still have the potential to deal high damage in endgame content. Mages have access to spells like Frostbolt and Fireball, which provide consistent damage output, their crowd control and utility spells also benefit the group. However, the ignite mechanic, which can increase the damage output of fire spells, requires coordination with other Mages and group members, making it less accessible or inconsistent. They might not have access to the gear required to fully optimize their damage output.

9. Paladin - C Tier

The final class that ranked in the lowest tier for SoD phase 4 is Paladin, their buffs can benefit the group or raid, and they can contribute to melee DPS, even though can’t compete with top performances. Some players may enjoy the unique play style and mechanics of Ret Paladins. Overall, Ret Paladins require extensive reworks or significant changes to shine in the next phase.
