Diablo 4 Season 7 Class Tier List
Diablo 4 Season 7's Patch 2.1 introduces significant changes to Ultimate Skills across all classes, with new powerful Rank 5 bonuses that aim to encourage players to invest more points into Ultimate abilities instead of leaving them at Rank 1. These reworks create new build opportunities and power scaling options for players who fully invest in their Ultimate abilities. Which class is going to be the strongest in S7 and what builds to choose for them?
Diablo 4 Patch 2.1 Changes for Each Class (Season 7)
Notable changes include Barbarian's Wrath of the Berserker now pulling enemies instead of knocking them back, Druid's Petrify resetting all non-Ultimate Skill Cooldowns, Necromancer's Soul Rift refilling Healing Potions and Army of the Dead scaling with Skeleton Mage and Golem damage bonuses, Rogue's Death Trap gaining additional pull-in effects, Sorcerer's Inferno making enemies Vulnerable at Rank 5, and Spiritborn's The Hunter executing injured non-boss enemies. Many of these changes focus on incorporating existing damage bonuses into Ultimate scaling, such as Critical Strike Damage, Damage to Distant, Damage While Healthy/Fortified, and Vulnerable Damage bonuses.
Diablo 4 Season 7 Best Class & Builds
1. Necromancer (S-Tier)
The Necromancer is dominating the PTR for Season 7, largely due to uncapped scaling on its ultimate abilities. Two builds stand out: Army of the Dead and Blood Wave (Shadow Variant). The rank 5 upgrade for Army of the Dead boosts damage by 125% of your Skeleton Mage and Golem damage bonuses, enabling absurd output that can hit trillions of damage. Meanwhile, Blood Wave synergizes with the Kessime's Legacy unique pants, doubling its waves and adding a stacking debuff that pulls enemies in, while massively scaling damage through healthy and fortified damage bonuses. Both builds are breaking damage limits and clearing high-tier content with ease, but expect some rebalancing before launch.
Best D4 S7 Necro Builds:
Blood Wave Necromancer: Utilizes Kessime's Legacy and healthy/fortified damage boosts for massive AoE damage.
Army of the Dead Necromancer: Scales with minion damage bonuses for insane burst potential.
2. Druid (S-Tier)
The Druid is another top-tier contender, thanks to a bug in the Survival Instincts passive, which currently allows for absurd overpower multipliers by miscalculating life scaling. This bug creates insane damage potential for Boulder builds, especially in Werebear form, while Cataclysm builds also shine due to new lightning bolt effects. Even with the bug fixed, Boulder builds and Cataclysm is expected to remain strong, as Survival Instincts adds significant power to these playstyles. The Druid is breaking damage caps, making it a force to be reckoned with in Season 7.
Best D4 S7 Druid Builds:
Boulder Druid: Overpower-focused, leveraging Werebear form and Survival Instincts for massive single-target damage.
Cataclysm Druid: New lightning bolt effects make this AoE-focused build highly effective.
3. Spiritborn (A-Tier)
Spiritborn is emerging as an exciting class, particularly due to the new Aspect of Endless Talons, which scales Eagle skill damage with critical hits from Razor Wings. Although the aspect is currently bugged, allowing for thousands of stacks instead of the intended 50%, the build is clearly the focus for Spiritborn in Season 7. Razor Wings has been buffed, and new legendary items synergize well with it, making this a standout build. Even with nerfs, Razor Wings is poised to be a top-performing option for Spiritborn players.
Best D4 S7 Spiritborn Build:
Razor Wings Spiritborn: Endless Talons Aspect scales critical strikes for unparalleled single-target and AoE damage.
4. Rogue (A-Tier)
Rogues are climbing the ranks with the reworked Rain of Arrows ultimate build. This build benefits from buffs to the skill’s base damage, shorter delay, higher lucky hit chance, and a new rank 5 upgrade that adds 100% of your damage to distant enemies as a bonus. While not game-breaking like some other classes, Rain of Arrows is performing consistently well, capable of clearing tier 120 content efficiently. It’s a balanced and powerful option for rogues who favor AoE-heavy playstyles.
Best D4 S7 Rogue Build:
Rain of Arrows Rogue: Buffed ultimate skill with strong AoE scaling and high-tier performance.
5. Barbarian (B-Tier)
Barbarians have solid options, but none are breaking the game like other classes. The new Hammer of the Ancients build is promising, creating explosive earthquakes that deal substantial damage but require optimized gear to reach its full potential. Mighty Throw remains strong from previous seasons, and the rank 5 upgrade for Iron Maelstrom (scaling with damage to injured and healthy enemies) introduces a new viable playstyle. While barbarians don’t have any outright broken builds, they are versatile and competitive.
Best D4 S7 Barb Builds:
Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian: Creates devastating earthquakes for consistent damage.
Iron Maelstrom Barbarian: Scales with injured/healthy damage stats for a versatile play style.
6. Sorcerer (B-Tier)
Sorcerers remain a mixed bag, with Firewall Fire Bolt Shatter and Fireball Shatter builds continuing to dominate due to unchanged mechanics that sustain their efficiency. New builds like Inferno-Incinerate are viable, performing well up to tier 100 content, but they lack the power of the top-tier options. Meanwhile, Ball Lightning, while decent, is hindered by a bug in the new Strike of Stormhorn unique focus, which fails to apply its bonus damage correctly. Sorcerers are consistent but lack the explosive potential of other classes in the PTR.
Best D4 S7 Sorc Builds:
Fireball-Firewall Sorcerer: Efficient and reliable for high-tier content.
Inferno-Incinerate Sorcerer: This newly viable option with good AoE and sustained damage potential.
