Elden Ring Best Halberds Guide | Weapon Guide
In this Elden Ring guide, we're going to be showing why Halberds are the best weapon in Elden Ring, we go through each weapon type and show you what you can do with each weapon and why you may or may not use these weapons on your build.
Gargoyle's Black Halberd
Clawmark seal is recommended as it also scales with strength and faith.
Not a bad option for NG+ playthrough.
50 points into Strength, Dexterity and Faith recommended.
The weapon skill spinning slash, while not a bad ash of war, the charge R2 does nearly the same damage.
Holy damage is resisted by difficult bosses in the later parts of the game.
The weapon has exceptional attack rating early on, nut has poor scaling.
Ripple Crescent Halberd
A playstyle around incantations, especially dragon communion and incantations buff is recommended.
45 points into arcane and faith recommended.
The weapon does scale very well up to 80 arcane, however we recommend splitting your stats between arcane and faith.
However, compared to other halberd it has very low attack rating.
This weapon is unique in a way that it has 100% arcane scaling, only deals physical damage and is able to use weapon buffs.
Golden Halberd
A great choice for NG+ playthrough and beyond.
A block counter playstyle with a greatsheild is recommended.
Clawmark seal is also recommended as it also scales with strength and faith.
Jump attack playstyle with the Gargoyle's Black Halberd is recommended.
The weapon skill Golden Vow is actually less effective than the incantation spell.
55 points into strength and 45 points into faith is recommended.
The weapon is relatively light compared to other weapon types of the same attack rating.
One of the highest attack rating weapon in Elden Ring.
Dragon Halberd
Jump attack playstyle with cold infused halberd or a playstyle that focuses on the weapon skill are recommended.
55 points into strength and 45 points into dexterity is recommended.
The weapon does have good strength and dexterity scaling.
The weapon skill spinning slash, buffs the weapon with ice lightning increasing overall damage.
The weapon has average attack rating compared to other halberds.
Loretta’s War Sickle
A good weapon for mounted combat.
Two-handed playstyle or a block counter playstyle with a greatshield is recommended.
A good choice for NG+ playthrough and beyond.
45 points into strength, 55 points into dexterity and 20 points into intelligence is recommended.
Best paired with winged sword insignia, rotten winged sword, millicent's prosthesis and thorny cracked tear.
However the weapon does have one of the longest reach for halberds and has a fast attack speed.
Loretta's war sickle also only has average attack rating compared to the other halberds.
The weapon skill loretta's slash ehile not a bad skill, it is more suited for magic and cold infused halberds.
Commander’s Standard
Jump attack playstyle or a block counter playstyle with a gratshield is recommended.
A viable choice gor NG+ playthrough.
50 points into strength is recommended and add more points into strength and dexterity accordingly.
The weapon skill rallying standard damage and negates damage by 20% for 30 seconds and has a long animation.
However, when not buffed the weapon's attack rating is at the lower end of the halberds.
When buffed the commander's standard's attack rating is comparable with other halberds.
Halberd
Overall not recommended for NG+ playthrough.
Ashes of war like double slash lets to do multiple hits rapidly and works well with talismans like the winges sword insignia.
Splitting your stats between strength and faith will let you cast incantation buffs.
Only recommended for two-handed heavy infused playstyle.
The weapon has better heavy scaling than banished knight's halberd.
It has a thrust attack for their R1 that works well with the spear talisman.
You can find the weapon very early on and the vagabond class starts with it.
Banished Knight’s Halberd
A two-handed playstyle or jump attack platstyle are recommended.
Infusions recommended for this weapon is fire>lightning>heavy or quality in NG+.
However the halberd has better heavy scaling than this weapon.
The banished knight’s halberd is overall a better weapon than the halberd.
Lucerne
Cold infusion is also recommended.
Infusions recommended for this weapon is fire>lightning>heavy or quality in NG+.
Determination and royal knight's resolve ash of war can increase the overall chip damage.
It might be a viable weapon choice against heavily guarded players in PVP.
Making the usefulness of the chip damage negligible.
However most PVE enemies lower their guard to attack you, giving you plenty of chance to retaliate.
It can do chip damage through the enemy's block.
Glaive
Also not a bad choice for a strength faith build.
Jump attack playthrough or a playstyle that focuses on the usage of ash of war is recommended.
It has a good attack rating, good length for a halberd and great quality scaling for NG+.
The Glaive is overall a good weapon.
Vulgar Militia Shotel
Quality scaling will overtake heavy scaling in NG+.
Infusions recommended for this weapon is fire>lightning>cold>blood.
While shorter in reach, it deals much more damage than Lucerne.
However in PVE, most enemies lower their guars to attack you, making this weapon more PVP oriented.
Similar to the weapon Lucerne, it can do chip damage through the enemy’s block.
Vulgar Militia Saw
Best paired with the dragon communion seal and blood flame blade ripple crescent halberd for occult infusion playthrough.
You can either play with cold infusion for double status effect or pure bleed build with occult infusion.
Jump attack playstyle with two vulgar militia saw or a playstyle that focuses on ash of war that hits repeatedly.
While shorter in reach, it deals good amount of damage.
Making it the halberd option for status effect build.
The vulgar militia saw is the only halberd that has native bleed build up.
Guardian's Swordspear
A great weapon choice for NG+ Playthrough and beyond.
Ash of war focus build or a block counter palystyle with jellyfish shield is recommended.
Has great keen attack rating and dexterity scaling on keen infusion.
A good looking weapon.
It has great attack rating, average reach, fast attack speed.
The guardian swordspear is arguably the best non-unique halberd in Elden Ring.
Gargoyle’s Halberd
A good choice for NG+ playthrough.
For heavy infusion, strength faith build with the clawmark seal is recommended.
Infusions recommended for this weapon is fire>lightning>heavy>cold.
The gargoyle's halberd does standard damage while the nightrider glaive does slash.
The shortest halberd in the game and be found further in the game than most halberds.
Almost tied with the nightrider glaive for the most damage at every infusion, slightly better at heavy infusion.
Nightrider Glaive
Good at single target fights.
Strength faith build with the clawmark seal is recommended.
The weapon has a good length, has good strength scaling and can be found somewhat early in the game.
Nightrider Glaive has the most damage at every infusion except for the Gargoyle's halberd’s heavy infusion.
Pest's Glaive
A status effect build with the occult infusion is recommended.
While the weapon doesn’t have a good reach, it does have good keen and occult scaling.
The pest’s glaive has very low attack rating compared to other halberds in the game.
