The Update 1.12.3 nerfs some of the most powerful builds in Shadow of the Erdtree, like perfume bottles, what can you try in the next phase? Let’s take a look at some of the new best Elden Ring DLC builds after Patch 1.12.3, using some amazing new weapons and items.
Top 3 Elden Ring 1.12.3 Best Builds & Weapons (Shadow of the Erdtree DLC)
1. Elden Ring 1.12.3 Divine Beast (Dexterity) Build
This Dexterity build is a powerful option in the latest Elden Ring DLC after 1.12.3, it focuses on boosting the damage of storm abilities, particularly with the Storm Blade, and deals massive damage from both a distance and in melee range.
Weapons
- Keen Great Katana +25 (Ash of War - Storm Blade): The main weapon of choice for this Elden Ring 1.12.3 build is the Great Katana with Keen affinity, which has excellent reach and deals physical damage. Storm Blade is an effective Ash of War for this build, it can increase the attack speed and range of Great Katana, making it smoother and more deadly in fast combos.
- Horned Warrior's Greatsword +10: The Horned Warrior Great Sword is another weapon option you can put in the right-hand slot, with the brand new Horn Calling: Storm Ash of War. While it's not the best in the game, it's a solid choice for corner-hitting enemies and passing through walls, making it a great option for AOE damage dealing and when surrounded by enemies.
Armor
Divine Beast Helm is critical, it provides an extra 4% to storm damage and four points into Dexterity and Strength.
Talismans
The Blessed Blue Dew Talisman pairs perfectly with the Storm Blade's low FP cost. This allows for almost infinite spamming of the Ash of War, making it formidable in battle.
- Enraged Divine Beast (10% storm damage increase)
- Shard of Alexander (15% storm damage increase)
- Two-Handed Sword Talisman (15% physical damage increase for great Katana)
- Blessed Blue Dew Talisman (1 extra FP every 2 seconds)

This Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Arcane build is ideal for players who like to use incantations in Elden Ring, with a focus on Dragon Communion incantations, this build offers high damage potential, stagger, and unique mechanics.
Weapons & Items
- Dragon Communion Seal +10: a great weapon for casters using Dragon Communion incantations, it mainly scales with Faith and Arcane, so the primary stat to invest in is Arcane here.
- Rock Heart: an important consumable item for this build, it boosts all Dragon Communion incantations.

Talismans
Since the build focuses on being in Dragon form, the equip load is low, allowing for the use of the Blue Dancer Charm to boost physical damage. Lightning Scorpion Charm is also used for lightning damage. Two Canvas Talismans are recommended for this build, as they offer a better option than sacrificing one for a Fire Scorpion Charm or Talisman of the Dread.
- Blue Dancer Charm: raises attack power with lower equipment load.
- Lightning Scorpion Charm: increases lightning attack, lowers damage negation.
- Flock’s Canvas Talisman: raises the potency of incantations.
- Faithful’s Canvas Talisman: improves the potency of incantations.
3. Elden Ring 1.12.3 Bloodfiend's Fork (Bleed/Arcane) Build
The last DLC build after Patch 1.12.3 has its strength lies in its ability to quickly stack bleed buildup and deal insane damage, often destroying them before the need for stance damage arises. However, what to note is that stance damage is not a focus of the build.
Weapons
- Bloodfiend's Occult Fork +25 (Ash of War - Seppuku): Bloodfiend's Fork is a new DLC weapon added in the Shadow of the Erdtree, and a very strong spear for bleed builds. Spears have a good range you can easily reach enemies from a safe distance and out of harm away. Spears not only excel in attack but also have a unique advantage in defense. Due to their longer shaft and heavier spearhead, they can resist enemy close-range attacks. To obtain the Bloodfiend's Fork in Elden Ring, you need to defeat the Bloodfiend enemies wielding long spears in Prospect Town. Once you get it, by continuously upgrading the weapon, you can increase its bleed and arcane damage capabilities. When you are using the weapon, pay particular attention to attack timing. Try to attack enemies when they are in a vulnerable state, such as knocked back, weakened, or in other disadvantageous states, to ensure maximum damage output.
Armor
White Mask is used to maximize the overall damage, and Thiollier’s Garb offers an extra boost to Arcane.
Talismans
Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and Two-Handed Turtle Talisman can quickly regain stamina for attacks.
- Two-Handed Turtle Talisman: raises stamina recovery speed.
- Lord of Blood’s Exultation: blood loss in the vicinity increases attack power.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman: boosts physical damage negation.
- Rotten Winged Sword Insignia: increases attack power with successive attacks.
