With the addition to Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion, how will these class rankings change? This D4 Vessel of Hatred Class Tier List will rank each class from multiple angles to pick the best class to play for your needs.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Expansion Best Class Tier List

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Tier List - Best Class and Builds in Vessel of Hatred

The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Tier List assesses various abilities of all six classes, including leveling (a class's ability to quickly progress from level 1 to 60), speed (a class's speed in farming Helltide, Nightmare dungeons, and other high-difficulty content), endgame (a class's ability to push for high clears in the Pit, defeat Tormented bosses, and complete raids) and overall (the overall performance of the class).

6 - Barbarian

  • Leveling: 6

  • Speed: 4

  • Endgame: 6

  • Overall: 6

The Barbarian class ranks last in the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion, despite a last-minute buff from Blizzard. Unfortunately, the Barbarian's weaknesses are evident in various areas, including leveling, where they're tied with Druids as the slowest, and speeds, where they're outpaced by classes like the Spiritborn, Sorcerer, and Rogue. In the endgame, the Barbarian's builds may struggle to reach high Pit tiers, and even casual players will have to work hard to achieve mediocre output. Overall, the Barbarian's lack of redeeming qualities earns them the last spot, and it's suggested that players might be better off switching to a different class for better results. However, with some love and attention from Blizzard, the Barbarian might be able to creep back up the ranks in future seasons.

5 - Druid

  • Leveling: 5

  • Speed: 5

  • Endgame: 5

  • Overall: 5

The Druid class ranks fifth in the Vessel of Hatred because it is struggling in various areas. While the Companion Druid is expected to be a strong build in the endgame, and their new ability, Stone Burst, shows promise for leveling, they're still hindered by their slow leveling pace and lack of movement abilities, making it hard to compete with other classes. In speeds, they can do okay with certain builds, like the werewolf tornado build, but they're no match for other classes. Their strongest build, Storm Slide, was essentially canceled, and its replacement, Pure Landslide, is decent but not as good as before. For casual players, Druids might be slightly easier to play than Barbarians, but overall, they're not a top choice. The best Druid builds in D4 Season 6 and VoH are likely to be Pure Landslide, possibly Boulder, and maybe even Hurricane, but they'll need more buffs to become competitive, especially if Stone Burst doesn't become a meta build.

4 - Necromancer

  • Leveling: 3

  • Speed: 6

  • Endgame: 4

  • Overall: 4

At the fourth spot, we have Necromancer, offering a predictable but solid performance. Their Minion archetype, which was incredibly strong in season 4, has received love and attention, making it a viable choice again. Additionally, new builds like Blood Wave are emerging, and the classic Bone Spirit build remains strong. Necromancers excel at leveling, ranking third in this category, thanks to their minion-focused gameplay and synergies with abilities like Blood Surge. However, they're slow in terms of farming speed, even after attempts to buff their mobility. In the endgame, they'll do well, but not spectacularly. Overall, the Necromancer's best builds in the upcoming DLC are Minions, Bone Spirit, and Blood Wave.

3 - Rogue

  • Leveling: 2

  • Speed: 2

  • Endgame: 3

  • Overall: 3

Rogues are expected to excel at leveling, with the Spin to Win Goblin Blaster build, also known as Dance of Knives, being incredibly fast and potentially unaffected by the recent nerfs. In speeds, Rogues are superior to Whirlwind, with numerous dashes and gap-closing abilities making them one of the fastest classes around. In the endgame, they can do well with builds like Goblin Blaster, Andariel's Rogue, Heartseeker, and Rapid Fire.

2 - Sorcerer

  • Leveling: 1

  • Speed: 3

  • Endgame: 2

  • Overall: 2

The Sorcerer is still a meta class despite receiving significant nerfs. Sorcerers excel at leveling, with a Firewall and Hydra build that has the fastest 1-60 progression. In speeds, they're still top-tier, with a Teleport build using Oculus that could be the fastest clearer in the game. In the endgame, they're expected to perform extremely well, with builds like Chain Lightning, Firebolt, and possibly others. Sorcerers are tied with Rogues in terms of power, and the best Sorc builds in D6 are Frozen Orb Lightning Spear, Chain Lightning, and Firebolt.

1 - Spiritborn

  • Leveling: 4

  • Speed: 1

  • Endgame: 1

  • Overall: 1

The new Spiritborn class is probably the best class in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred, exceling in almost every category. In leveling, they're ranked fourth, but could potentially move up to first with further testing and proof. In speeds, they're arguably the best, with Eagle builds offering incredible mobility and damage output. In the endgame, they're capable of crushing content with builds like Centipede and Eagle.
