Elden Ring Best Rune Farm 2025 (Locations & Glitches)
In Elden Ring, farming runes is an essential part of powering up your character quickly to take on the game’s toughest challenges. Over the years, players have perfected various methods to farm millions of runes per hour, and some glitches remain even after patches. Below, we’ll cover the best rune farming spots and glitches still working in 2025, ranging from early-game techniques to late-game exploits.
Elden Ring Best Rune Farm 2025
1. The Giant Dragon Glitch (Early Game)
This method is straightforward and perfect for new players. You can easily farm millions of Elden Ring runes using a glitch involving the giant sleeping dragon.
Steps:
Obtain a bleeding weapon such as the Samurai’s Uchigatana or the Bandit’s curved swords. If you don’t start with these, you can find a basic bleeding weapon in a nearby ravine early in the game.
Travel to Fort Faroth in Caelid. Behind the fort, you’ll find a massive sleeping dragon.
Attack the dragon’s tail with your bleeding weapon. Keep hitting it until its health bar is nearly depleted.
Before the dragon fully dies, quickly rest at the nearby Site of Grace. You have about 6 seconds to reset before the dragon permanently disappears.
The dragon will reset, but you’ll still receive the runes—around 50,000 per kill or up to 100,000 with the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot and Gold Scarab talisman.
Repeat this process as many times as you want to farm millions of runes early in the game.
2. The Bird Farm (Mid-Game)
This method takes place in the Palace Approach Ledge-Road area and is efficient for mid-game farming. It’s often referred to as the "Bird Farm."
Steps:
Unlock the Palace Approach Ledge-Road area by completing Varre’s questline. Alternatively, use the teleporter at the Four Belfries or the Consecrated Snowfield to access the area.
Equip a bow and arrows (a longbow works best for its range).
From the Site of Grace, look downhill to spot a bird standing near the edge of a cliff.
Lock onto the bird and shoot it with your bow. It will panic and fall off the cliff, granting you around 22,000 runes per kill.
Rest at the Site of Grace to reset the bird and repeat the process.
With the Gold Scarab and Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot, you can earn up to 35,000 runes per run. Each run takes about 10 seconds, meaning you can farm up to 12.6 million runes per hour.
3. The Sacred Relic Sword Farm (Endgame)
This method is the most lucrative but requires the Sacred Relic Sword, which you unlock after defeating the final boss, the Elden Beast.
Steps:
Equip the Sacred Relic Sword and travel to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.
From the Grace, use the sword’s Wave of Gold ability to wipe out the large group of enemies in front of you.
Turn left and shoot the bird with a bow as described in the previous method.
Rest at the Grace to reset enemies and repeat the process.
With this strategy, you can earn up to 810,000 runes per minute or around 48 million runes per hour if you’re efficient. Make sure to use the Gold Scarab and Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot to maximize your gains.
4. Boulder Exploit (Early Game)
This exploit is ideal for early-game players who don’t have powerful weapons or gear yet. It involves tricking a boulder into rolling off a cliff.
Steps:
Travel to the Lenne’s Rise Site of Grace in the northeast of Caelid.
Ride your horse down the hill, and a giant boulder will spawn behind you.
Quickly turn to your right and make the boulder fall off the cliff.
You’ll be rewarded with around 2,000 runes per run.
Teleport back to the Grace and repeat the process.
While this method doesn’t provide as many runes as the others, it’s great for beginners who need a quick boost.
5. Falling Glitch (Late Game)
This glitch, located in the Mohgwyn Palace area, allows you to generate a large number of runes by causing the game to despawn enemies.
Steps:
Complete Varre’s questline to access Mohgwyn Palace.
Equip the Golden Vow incantation (found at the Volcano Manor) and any seal to cast it.
Travel to the Dynasty Mausoleum Entrance Grace and head toward the nearby rock cliffs.
Use Torrent to carefully jump across the cliffs until you find a spot to jump off.
As you fall, continuously cast the Golden Vow incantation to prevent instant death.
After about 1 minute of falling, you’ll receive up to 300,000 runes (depending on your New Game Plus cycle).
Quickly teleport back to the Grace to avoid dying.
This method is time-consuming per run but is an excellent way to farm runes while multitasking or taking a break.
6. Fire Giant Exploit (Secret Area)
This method involves using the Fire Giant’s flame to kill nearby enemies and farm runes effortlessly.
Steps:
Travel to the secret Consecrated Snowfield area and unlock the Flame Peak Grace.
From the Grace, head toward a group of enemies near a bridge.
Wait for the Fire Giant’s flame attack to kill the enemies.
Rest at the Grace and repeat the process.
You can earn around 28,000 runes per run or up to 35,000 with rune-boosting items. This method is particularly effective if you want a low-effort farming method.
