Elden Ring Seal Tier List 2025 - Best Sacred Seals Ranked
Sacred Seals are essential for casting Incantations in Elden Ring, with each offering unique scaling and bonuses. Some excel in raw damage, while others provide valuable buffs to specific spell types. Choosing the right Seal can greatly impact your build, whether you're focusing on pure Faith, a hybrid setup, or an Arcane-based playstyle. This tier list ranks all 12 Sacred Seals for PVE, helping you determine the best option for maximizing your Incantation power.
Elden Ring Sacred Seal Tier List 2025
Sacred Seals in Elden Ring are catalysts used to cast incantations, with most scaling off the Faith stat. The stronger your Faith stat, the higher the damage output of your spells. However, a common misconception is that spells scale solely off a particular stat—this isn't the case. Instead, they scale based on the seal’s Incant Scaling value, which determines the actual spell damage.
For example, Dragon Claw can scale with any stat, depending on the seal used. The Clawmark Seal scales with Strength and Faith, while the Dragon Communion Seal scales with Arcane and Faith. Meanwhile, Erdtree Seal relies purely on Faith. Spell requirements don't dictate damage scaling—except for weapon buffs and healing spells.
Buffs like Electrify Armament and Order’s Blade scale with Faith and Faith-based seals. Healing spells, like Erdtree Heal, remain unaffected by Incant Scaling, making high-Faith seals more effective for them.
There are 12 Sacred Seals in total, each with unique properties. Most seals provide passive buffs to specific incantations, and these buffs apply even when the seal is in the offhand. If you equip two of the same seal, the passive effects stack. Below we will rank the seals based on performance rather than just raw numbers:
12. Spiral Tree Seal (D Tier)
The Spiral Tree Seal is acquired at the end of the DLC but is one of the weakest in terms of damage. Its Incantation Scaling is poor at every level, making it a bad choice unless you are specifically using Spiral Incantations, which this Seal boosts by 20%. Unfortunately, Spiral Incantations are underwhelming compared to Golden Rings of Light. This Seal is highly situational and almost useless outside of niche builds.
11. Frenzied Flame Seal (D Tier)
At first glance, the Frenzied Flame Seal seems promising. It has no weight, no stat requirements, and provides a 20% boost to Frenzied Flame Incantations, which are generally strong. It also scales with four different stats: Faith, Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence.
However, its damage output is disappointing. Even at 80 Faith, the Erdtree Seal outperforms it, even when factoring in the 20% boost. The only use for this Seal is as an off-hand option for boosting Frenzied Flame Incantations. The fact that it is weightless and requires no stats isn’t particularly valuable, as most Seals have low requirements and minimal weight.
10. Fire Knight’s Seal (C Tier)
Another DLC Seal, the Fire Knight’s Seal, scales primarily with Faith. While it can reach high damage levels at later stages, it still falls short of Erdtree and Godslayer’s Seal.
Its primary use is boosting Mesmer Fire Incantations by 15%, making it the best Seal for that spell type. However, Giant Seal boosts Giant’s Flame Incantations by 20%, and those spells are generally better than Mesmer Fire. If you’re optimizing a fire-based build, Giant Seal is the superior choice.
9. Giant’s Seal (C Tier)
The Giant’s Seal also scales with Faith but has unimpressive Incantation Scaling. However, it provides a 20% boost to Giant’s Flame Incantations, which are among the best fire-based spells.
This Seal is best used in the off-hand to amplify Giant’s Flame Incantations but is otherwise outclassed as a primary option.
8. Dry Leaf Seal (B Tier)
Another DLC Seal, the Dry Leaf Seal, has excellent scaling between 27 and 50 Faith, making it the top choice at those levels. However, it falls off dramatically past 50 Faith, and by the time most players reach the DLC, they will likely have surpassed this range.
Its major advantage is a 15% boost to Golden Rings of Light Incantations, which are among the best Holy spells. Since the Golden Order Seal also boosts these spells (though only by 10%), players now have two Seals to enhance this spell category without needing New Game Plus.
7. Finger Seal (B Tier)
The Finger Seal is the best early-game option, as it comes with all starting classes that use Incantations. It remains viable until players reach 27 Faith, at which point switching to Godslayer’s Seal is recommended.
While it lacks any passive buffs, it is still useful for early builds, especially for casting utility spells like Flame, Grant Me Strength or Beastial Vitality.
6. Gravel Stone Seal (A Tier)
This Seal boosts Dragon Cult Incantations by 15%, which includes some of the most overpowered spells in the game, like Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Strike and Lightning Spear.
While its raw scaling isn’t the highest, Dragon Cult Incantations are strong enough to justify using this Seal as either a primary or off-hand option. Lightning is one of the best damage types, and with the addition of Priestess Hearts, lightning builds have become even stronger.
5. Clawmark Seal (A Tier)
The Clawmark Seal is unique in that it scales with Strength and Faith, making it the best choice for Strength-based builds that want to use Incantations.
While it won’t outperform high-Faith Seals, it allows pure Strength builds to incorporate Incantations effectively. Additionally, it provides a 10% boost to Bestial Incantations, though that isn’t its main selling point.
4. Godslayer's Seal (S Tier)
The Godslayer’s Seal is one of the best Seals throughout most of the game. From 27 to 69 Faith, this Seal provides the best damage output. It also boosts Black Flame Incantations by 15%, which are solid fire-based options that deal percentage-based damage over time.
Since this Seal is found in Stormveil Castle, it can be obtained early and remain effective for a long time. It’s an excellent choice for Faith builds that want high damage without needing to switch Seals frequently.
3. Golden Order Seal (S Tier)
One of the highest-damaging Seals, the Golden Order Seal scales with both Faith and Intelligence, making it perfect for hybrid builds. At 25 Intelligence and Faith, it outperforms all other Seals at 40 Faith. Even at 35 Intelligence and Faith, it surpasses most Faith-based Seals at 60 Faith.
The downside is that hybrid builds require more stat investment, and there are very few Faith-Intelligence weapons. However, it pairs well with Golden Order Incantations, which it boosts by 10%.
2. Erdtree Seal (S Tier)
For high-level Faith builds (69 Faith and above), the Erdtree Seal is the best option. While it doesn’t boost any specific Incantations, it has the highest Incantation Scaling at max Faith.
Additionally, because it uses Somber Smithing Stones, it is easier to upgrade compared to Seals that require Smithing Stones. This makes it a logical investment for players planning to focus on Faith throughout their playthrough.
1. Dragon Communion Seal (S Tier)
The Dragon Communion Seal is one of the most broken Seals in the game. It scales primarily with Arcane, meaning Arcane builds can access powerful Incantations without needing high Faith. In fact, Arcane builds can often deal more spell damage than Faith builds when using this Seal.
Since it is available early in the game, requires Somber Smithing Stones, and boosts Dragon Communion Incantations by 20%, it is an incredibly powerful option. Pairing this Seal with Arcane-based weapons allows for devastating builds that can deal massive damage in multiple ways.
